About EAA Chapter 65

The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 65 – Golden Horseshoe was founded in 1959 when a group of passionate aviators came together with a shared vision of creating a place for local aviation enthusiasts. Over a half-century later, Chapter 65 is an active club that’s still growing! With 60+ members and over 20 member aircraft there is plenty of opportunity to get involved by volunteering and enjoying our social events!

Since its inception, EAA Chapter 65 has played a vital role in advancing aviation in the region. Our Chapter activity participates in ‘Buddy Flights,’ often referred to as the ‘$100 Hamburger’, where members flying aircraft are encouraged to take non-flying members along. No empty seats!

the future

The aviation industry is constantly evolving, and several significant changes are on the horizon. As an example, the emergence of electric aircraft is set to revolutionize the aviation industry. As advancements in battery technology continue, electric-powered aircraft are becoming more feasible and environmentally friendly.

It’s important for our chapter and its members to stay informed about any upcoming changes and embrace opportunities for growth and adaptation. By actively participating in club activities and the evolving aviation landscape, EAA Chapter 65 can continue to foster a vibrant community and promote the spirit of experimental aircraft innovation.

As we move forward, EAA Chapter 65 remains committed to its founding principles, embracing the spirit of aviation and fostering a vibrant community. We continue to strive towards our mission of promoting and preserving the joys of flight, welcoming aviation enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels to join us on this exciting journey.
